It is highly recommended to mix with gum arabic to ensure the pigments is non-smudgeable once dries.

[ Materials Required ]
• 1 teaspoon of Pearl Ex Powder
• 1/4 teaspoon of Gum Arabic
• 1 teaspoon of water (tap or distilled water)
• 1 stirrer (can be a mixing brush or the back of the straight penholder)
• 1 ink well (glass or plastic)

[ How to Mix ] 
1) add 1 teaspoon of Pearl Ex Powder and 1/4 teaspoon of Gum Arabic into an ink well 
2) mix the content well with a stirrer 
3) add 1 teaspoon of water into the mixed content
4) stir more until the mixture is dissolved into desired consistency for calligraphy ink

***REMARK please continue to stir and mix the ink when you're writing, the pigments are light so they settle very quickly onto the base of the ink well. You can consider purchasing a Calligrapher Ink Stirrer to help you to speed up the process.
